WHAT: Zinque [Coffee & Wine Bar] – let’s be real, we take advantage of the wine more than the coffee.
WHERE: West Hollywood and Venice Beach
WHEN: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinks…we were first there celebrating our bestie Jess’ grad school graduation (shoutout to the Master)… and then back 2 weeks later to celebrate our bestie Caths’ birthday.  So for both we obvi did champagne…we mean dinner. (*Note, we hit up the Weho location)

WHAT TO ORDER: Tuna Tartare Tartine ($16/ ahi, pesto, salt & vinegar chip, on perfectly toasted bread). The mix of flavors and textures; it just doesn’t get much better. This should be your go-to table sharing meal opener (or just your meal if your group is fighting the feeling). It was a fan favorite even for those who aren’t necessarily tuna fans. Also, the Pan Con Tomate With Prosciutto ($8). I mean they’re just perfect in their simplicity, fresh ingredients, and easability in sharing (yes we know we invented a word).  And even though fries ($5) are the obvious choice, don’t miss out and get the Potato Gratin Dauphinois ($8) too.  Lots of wine should also be on the agenda… Reds, Whites, and specifically Rosé… by the bottle. The cheapest one is just as delicious (they’re all French so guaranteed to be good; we might be biased).

WHAT TO SKIP: The flatbreads ($10-12). While they’re by no means bad, everything else is just so much tastier and worth giving a shot first.  Also, the Mussels… just don’t do it.

WHAT TO KNOW: They fly in their breads daily from France. UMMMM let us tell you, it’s worth every $16 dollar tartine when you bite into the perfectly crispy on the outside soft on the outside fresh baguette.

WHERE TO SIT: Now we’ve never been to the Venice location but as far as Weho goes, PATIO PATIO PATIO. The tiled floors, mosaic fireplace, twinkle lights, and high and low wooden tables are just too perfect to pass up. If you can’t cop some outside property, inside will do just fine; they have windows so you’ll be able to stare at all the outside tables you’ll wish you were sitting at.

WHO YOU’LL SEE: Nothing but the trendiest LA locals and beautiful people either on dates, celebrating bdays, or having the typical ‘girls dinner.’ What can we say? We’re predictable and love some ambiance and mood lighting with our side of food. How else are we supposed to instagram the night away?

WHO TO BRING:  Your next date, bestie catch up sesh, or group dinner. They were SO accommodating, let us make a reservation for a group of 15 people (twice) on the patio (without putting any money down prior or signing our lives away) and then let us pay with 15 separate credit cards. I mean WE were annoyed with us but our amazing little French waitress did not give us attitude once.

EDDR LIFE LESSON:  Some stereotypes are worth listening to (French bread is ALWAYS the answer), some stereotypes are not (French people can be nice too)

A2 FINAL THOUGHT:  This is a 100% DO on all levels.  Centrally located in Weho it’s the perfect place to start (or end) your night.   Just make sure to book yourself the patio, be ready to take a bottle down and plan to stay a while.

Sneaking onto their next plane to bring the bread back,
