WHAT:  Edith’s – Baja Californian cuisine with a side of mariachi.

WHERE:  Cabo – steps away from Medano Beach (and Squid Roe- as much as everyone is ashamed, when in Cabo everyone goes)

WHEN:  Dinner. This is THE place to start your night and enjoy a looooooong, entertaining meal.

 

THE DISH:

WHAT TO ORDER: (forgive the lack of prices — everything was in pesos and let’s be real, I was too many tequila shots in to do any semblance of a conversion). Lobster Taquitos (4 to an order). Our friend ordered them for his appetizer and let’s just say out of 4 taquitos, he only got a small bite of one. Also, they are KNOWN for their table side Caesar salad where they wheel the little cart over and make that dressing fresh onsite. De-Lish. Moving on. All of the fish was so fresh (and so clean clean — sorry couldn’t help it) but what really really stood out was the RIBEYE. I only had a bite because I had to steal it from the birthday boy when he wasn’t looking but it was one of THE.BEST.BITES.EVER.

WHAT TO SKIP: The flan. Thanks for giving this to us for the bday but like – does anyone even like flan?

WHO TO BRING: We were in a big group of 12 and this was the perfect place. But there were also families of all sizes and people on dates. It really accommodates everyone and between all of the different sections, you can either have the more quiet vibe or be loud and obnoxious (like us).

WHERE TO SIT: I mean the entire restaurant has low strung lanterns, a straw canopy above, twinkle lights (the tacky Christmas version in the best way possible), and tiled mosaics everywhere so there really isn’t a bad seat in the house.

WHAT TO KNOW:  They have a private room with a wall lined with tequilas and a long table that can accommodate up to 10. If we had known this, we would’ve booked this. I mean it’s perfection (see pictures above). Also, the back of every chair has a poncho on it that you are encouraged to wear (the equivalent of rooftops that provide blankets). Between the pop of color it gives to the overall scene and the insta photo opps it provides — I mean…On point Edith, on point.

WHO YOU’LL SEE: Annoying American tourists like us and prob some celebs if in town.

WHAT TO WEAR: This is probably the fanciest of the Mexican restaurants and you can still wear flippy floppies. So keep it cas(ual) or wear what you’ll be strutting your stuff in later at El Squid Roe.

WHAT ELSE: The owners of Edith’s also own a just-as-fab restaurant around the corner called THE OFFICE. Get yourself to both.

 

EDDR LIFE LESSON:  Less flan, more tequila shots.
