basic brunching with a side of grease.

The new AOC space is home to one of our favorite, most beautiful patios in LA! Since we’ve each eaten and loved dinner there, we were excited to broach our most favorite meal of the week: brunch.

We’re sad to report that the food at this time of day was sub-par. That’s not to say we wouldn’t go back and try something new, because we love the ambiance, but maybe more lunch items. The overall theme of the meal: grease. We could’ve oiled up and gone to the beach will all the grease left on our plates. Without the scenery, our food just didn’t stand on its own. And it’s not cheap, so for the price, they should be able to serve you in the dark and you should think it’s amazing.

As for the service, considering it was early and the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, it could have been better. Everyone was nice just not very attentive. It’s awkward to flag down your waiter when there’s only 5 other occupied tables. We’re not trying to be rude, we really just want our hot sauce so we can eat our eggs before they get cold. However, the sweet bus boy did take a photo shoot of us at one of the prettiest tables – many kudos for that!

Also something to note, the crowd is better and livelier at night with a more energetic vibe. In our experience, walk-ins are chill for brunch (if despite our warnings you opt to try it for the setting), but reservations, sometimes a week out, are a MUST for dinner.

The space, both indoors and out, is great to host a party or group event. Bonus: great insta opportunity outside with the ivy walls. Sure to score you a lot of likes.

What We Ordered:

Green Goddess [Alex] – absolutely delicious! Refreshing, spicy, and ideal to cool you down on a warm day or after a long night of drinking.

Cappucino [Alie] – Just the right size and the sugar cubes came in a cute little dispenser.

AOC Brioche [Alex] – Sounded way better in theory. Gruyere, frisée, prosciutto, and a sunny side up egg on top – how could you go wrong? I’ll tell ya: the bread was too thick, it overpowered everything else. Not to mention, I felt like i gained 5 pounds after consumption. And there’s no way to look cute eating this so make sure to stay away if you’re on a hot date.

2 Eggs Any Style [Alie} – Don’t get me wrong, everything was good, but it was way too greasy. even the bread was greasy…how does that happen? Bacon, I get it. Potatoes, not ideal, but fine. I’ll let it slide. But the eggs and the bread…no bueno. No one needs that extra grease in their life. I certainly don’t.

Our vote: stick to AOC for dinner, drinks, or the happiest of hours.  The location, ambiance, and dinner menu is on point and sure to impress whoever you’re with.
