Dine LA is HERE (through July 31st)

Dine LA is upon us, now through July 31st. It’s the perfect time to either go to those expensive spots on your list bc if you go any other time you’ll leave either broke or hungry, Or check off those spots that have been on your list too long simply because life happens and you just haven’t gotten around to it- this was the case with Wilde wine bar and restaurant. So before we go into our top new picks for Dine LA, let us share with you our first stop of the ‘season’…

Wilde is a quaint spot on busy La Brea and West 3rd St. where you can find fine wine, paired with fine food and stay a while. We are dishing up the 3 main reasons we liked it here, so take note people. 1) Unlike most spots in the area it doesn’t feel scene-y and it’s not ginormous. It’s the perfect spot to bring your low key family or that ADD date who you want to focus on just you (not the 1000 other models eating, or NOT eating while you stuff your face). 2) They only book one reservation, per table, per night and they encourage bottle after bottle.  Possibly being the only place in LA where they don’t bring all your food out in 2.2 secs, put the check on the table after only 40 mins and then make you feel like an asshole for lingering because you don’t want the night to end. 3) Chef focuses on making the dishes simple with few ingredients, so you can actually taste each and every flavor profile. And besides the normal dinner menu they have Wilde Hour (Tues-Fri; 5-7pm with $25 bottles of wine) and Sunday fried chicken & bubbles dinner ($65 for half a bottle of bubbly and fried chicken with sides for two).  Love a good deal- especially if it involves deliciously prepared grapes and fried food.

Their Dine LA dinner menu is $39 person – I chose the Prawn Ceviche, Swordfish Involtini (which was uniquely prepared flattened, rolled and skewed with herbed crumbs… And I will be back to have it again) and lastly both the Lemon Sorbet and Salted Carmel Gelato because we couldn’t choose just one (you know us by now; this is our norm). And then we left satisfyingly full and happy to have finally checked it off the list.

Since restaurant week is 2 weeks long these days here are some newer places to check out while you can get the most bang for your buck:
1.  Demitasse Roastery & Kitchen
2.  Estate Restaurant & Bar
3.  Hanjip Korean BBQ
4.  Mama Shelter
5.  Moruno @ The Grove
6.  Viviane
7.  Wilde Wine Bar & Restaurant (did we convince you?!)

“You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy wine and that’s kind of the same thing”– They just get it,
