THE BASICS:

WHAT: An old school hip Italian neighborhood joint (with a deli attached)

WHERE:  Los Feliz (on the cool part of Hillhurst)

WHEN:  Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner (and open til midnight on Fri and Sat) – this is your BRUNCH edition.

THE DISH:

WHAT TO KNOW:  Little Dom’s is a Los Feliz classic. Brought to you by the same owners as the 101 Coffee Shop, Minibar and Dominick’s, you’re guaranteed great ambiance with the coolest crowd and solid food. While the space has been completely renovated, the decor maintains that retro “rat pack” vibe mixed with an elegant bistro feel. This is the type of place where your meals drag on because you just don’t want to leave. Part of me wishes I lived in Los Feliz just so I could call it MY neighborhood spot.

WHAT TO ORDER:  We’ll need to go back to speak on dinner’s behalf but as for breaky/brunch, well, we got chu. You guys know how I feel about potatoes in all forms (LOVE). As a result, I give myself some credit in feeling like I know what I’m talking about when it comes to consuming them (fried/mashed/baked…I don’t discriminate). YOU GUYS: These fried potatoes ($6) are a MUST. They’re like little angels that have flown down from heaven and placed themselves at your table. Maybe some of the best breakfast potatoes (or just potatoes in general) that I have ever eaten. I can’t quite put into words how bomb they are (the pics help prove my point) but all I know is you need to go get them now and get on my level. And bring me with you because I’m overdue. Also, both the Scrambled Eggs Bruschetta ($11) and Eggs Funghi Poached ($15) are both solid and necessary choices…you know, as sides to your potatoes.  And Alex also raves about their Ricotta Cheese & Fresh Blueberries Pancakes w/ Maple Syrup ($10); so get an order for the table (you know when you each order a main and then one for the table to split — as if the table is also a guest at your meal), along with everything else listed above… and did I mention the potatoes?

WHAT TO SKIP:  I’ll let you know when I know.

WHERE TO SIT:  For breakfast, if you’re not with a big group, definitely outside or the front booth/bar area. For dinner, I would say the main “upstairs” dining room.

WHO TO BRING:  Half of the deliciousness of this local spot comes with eating the carbs and gluten. Unless you’re just going for the drinks and vibe, I would opt out of bringing your “starving because they don’t eat anything but skinny bitch” friend. As for situations, highly recommend any and all: date night, fam in town, bday party, friends dinner… you decide.

WHAT TO WEAR: Guys this is Los Feliz. So dress.it.down. The more hipster you look, the more you fit in….and probably the less stares you’ll get (not the good kind).

WHAT ELSE: On Monday’s, we do Supper. 15$ for a 3 course Supper every Monday night (the menu rotates and looks bomb) and $15 bottles of Red/White wine. They also have $3 PBR but that’s not really how we roll here at EDDR.

EDDR LIFE LESSON:  Da Vinci said “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” and that could not be more true of this spot.

A2 FINAL THOUGHT:  Who wants to come back with me?

Moving to Los Feliz and dreaming of fried taters,

Alie
